He was buried secretly, anonymously, in plot 298 of the Új Közmemető. His name was added to the grave of his sister, widow Györgyné Tempfli, in the Újpest cemetery. However, my (Endre Kovacs grandson) research did not reveal whether First Lieutenant Endre Kovács was really placed next to his brother in their common grave, or whether his name was only symbolically placed on the tombstone.
Unfortunately, after the turn of the millennium, the grave site in the Megyeri út cemetery was abolished.
It is a reflection of how Hungarian soldiers were viewed and treated.
